Red Carpet, Performances & All The Glamours At The 2016 MTV MAMA Awards

The prestigious and highly anticipated award ceremony MAMA Awards for the year 2016 by the MTV Base Africa have finally come and gone with many African stars rewarded for their hard work for the months spanned for the award.

The event, just as usual, attracted several African Celebrities across the globe, all in their unique fashionable appearance, ready to take the event best red carpet outfit.

Just as we earlier promised, all the glamours, red carpet, great performance from the award night performers and beautiful moment at the event arena in TicketPro Dome, Johannesburg, is what we are here to serve you with as they turn up for public access.

Wizkid did showed the world that he is what award and everyone says he is, African “Artist of The Year” and “Best Male Artist” from Africa. The StarBoy honcho stormed the stage is grand style with an en-thrilling and electrifying performance to wow the audience.

He performed his top notch single “Ojuelegba”¬†with the Soweto Gospel Choir, and was joined by DJ Maphorisa and DJ Bucks to perform their tonight award winning “Best Collaboration song” – “Soweto Baby“.


Mama Africa and the first female act to win MAMA Best Female Act in two consecutive years, after she won the same category at the 2015 & 2016 MAMA Awards, Yemi Alade did what she knows how to do best whenever she graced the stage.

The Effyzzie Music first lady who happened to co-host the award ceremony, did delivered an energetic performance of her top notch single “Koffi Anan” and later joined by the award night best music group, Sauti Sol to perform their joint chart topping single “Africa“.
