2017 AFRIMA Awards: Wizkid Wins Big | View Full Winners List

The 2017 edition of the annual award ceremony of All African Music Awards (AFRIMA) was held days ago, precisely on Sunday November 12th, 2017 at the EKO Hotel & Suites, Lagos, Nigeria.

The prestigious continental award night gained appreciable attendance by the African celebrities – though overshadowed by the international counterpart, MTV EMAs, which lights up London’s Wembley Arena on same date and time.

With Davido stealing the African spot on the music world stage for MTV EMAs – winning “Best African Act” and “Best Worldwide Act” – Wizkid continued same at home for the AFRIMA Awards as he earned three awards for the night, including award for “Artist of the Year”, “Song of the Year” and “Best West African Act”.

Other notable Nigerian winners for the night includes Mavin Records afro-diva, Tiwa Savage (for West African Best Female), X3M Music sensational, Simi (for Songwriter of the year), Black Diamond Kingpin, Wande Coal (for Best African Contemporary), Tinny Entertainment leading act, Ycee (for Best African Hip-Hop), Hypertek Digital General, 2Baba (for Best African Reggae, Ragga, Dancehall), DJ Coublon/Sheyi Shay (for Producer of the Year) and Adasa Cookey/Orezi (for Video Of The Year).

Check out the full list below and tell us if you concur to their list – which invariably did not recognize the amazing works within the months in view by the likes of Kiss Daniel, Tekno, Davido, to name but few.
