Just as usual, when an artist decides to breach his contract with his/her record label to float own imprint, he/she will have to be ready to answer a case in court in near time.
Nigerian sensational singer, Anidugbe Oluwatobiloba Daniel, known popularly by his stage name, Kiss Daniel, is the latest artist to be entangled to such case as the parted Record Label comes for him.
Weeks ago, the Woju star announced his departure from G-Worldwide Entertainment, followed with a new record label installation – Flyboy I.N.C – and later debuted with “No Do” and the announcement of his upcoming collaboration with Starboy Wizkid days ago – massive movement for a mainstream recognition.
This movement is sure going to be stalled as Emperor Geezy comes after him, files a case against him at a Lagos State Court for intellectual property theft.
According to the lawsuit, Kiss Daniel did sign 7-years management contract with the label in 2013 but has obviously breached the contract by appointing a new manager, making bookings and entering performance agreements without the label’s consent or permission.
The case which was filed on 20th of November gained a reply order from the federal high court on 30th November, restraining Kiss of any activities proving to be a breach to his contract with the label pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice filed in the suit.
