The 2019 BET Awards was held last night at the usual Microsoft Theatre, Los Angeles, California, United States of America.
The prestigious award ceremony which celebrate black excellence in the huge entertainment industry was mixed with hilarious, intriguing and eye catching moments from the performers, winners and audience at large.
Among the names that appeared on the winners slate for the 18th edition of the award gala includes our very own Spaceship general, Burna Boy, who joined the likes of Wizkid, Davido, 2Face Idibia, D’Banj, on the list of Nigerians to have won BET Awards.
The “Ye” performer was awarded the “Best International Act”, beating off challenges from the likes of Aya Nakamura (France), AKA (South Africa), Dave (U.K.), Dosseh (France), Giggs (U.K.) and Mr. Eazi (Nigeria).
Last year saw Burna Boy claim major award trophy on African entertainment scene and has move on to add more to the fast increasing trophy cabinet with this prestigious international award trophy.
No question about him deserving the award as his strong presence on the African music scene with solid singles and videos within the year in review worth such a reward.
As we constantly see from his end, the afro-fusion performer was absent during the announcement of him as the winner of the award which left his mother, who have been on that for much we can remember of the singer winning award on the big stage, no option but to receive this one on his son’s behalf and has got that moving acceptance speech every time she step unto the stage.
Much as some fans tend to troll him for this, the general himself has responded to why his mum had to but that wasn’t a convincing reason.
Funny enough I went to Get a drink! I would have collected this one 🤣🤣 https://t.co/ibiUuxBBEp

In all, it is a great achievement from the newly installed Star Lager beer brand ambassador who has remained ignited this year with good number of singles with the latest in “Anybody”.
